Shipping policy

General 

Swoon Bookstore uses Australia Post to ship all parcels. Shipping is charged per the live rates at the time of the sale of the products. 

Shipping timeframes 

If ordering a preorder item, you must review the product listing for shipping timeframes. You can keep up to date with preorder progress on our separate shipping page. Once the preorders are dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. You can use this to track your delivery. 

Address Changes 

All address changes should be requested as soon as possible if required. Swoon Bookstore makes every effort to remind customers about expected shipping dates, but the responsibility ultimately lies with the customer. If you request an address change once shipping commences, we may not be able to amend your order at that time, and your item may be lost/returned to us. Returned orders with incorrect addresses will require a reshipment fee paid before we can send your item to another address.

Lost Packages 

If your order has not arrived within 21 business days of shipment, please reach out to your local postal carrier as your initial point of contact. We often find that local services have more information regarding your item than Swoon Bookstore can access, particularly with International Shipping Services. If your item cannot be located, our administration team will file an enquiry to attempt to claim compensation for your item as a ‘lost in transit’ delivery. Once this process is completed (this can take up to 45 business days), we will arrange a reshipment of your order.

Undelivered Packages 

Swoon Bookstore takes no responsibility for items that are returned to sender due to not being collected or are deemed undeliverable. Should your item be returned to us, our customer service team will reach out to you via email to provide solutions for receiving your order. 

Customs and Duties  

UK VAT

Swoon Bookstore charges VAT automatically on packages shipped to the UK (if they apply). VAT prices are calculated by each country and depend on the item and weight of the package. Swoon Bookstore does not calculate these charges and is not responsible for paying any country's customs department fees. If your order is not charged VAT at the time of checkout then once your order arrives in your country's customs department they may reach out to you if there are any outstanding fees. Again, these fees are calculated by each county's customs department.

For any customer who wishes to not pay their VAT or Importing Fees then the package will be turned away at the border and not delivered. If this issue occurs and the customer still wishes to receive their order. There will be a reshipping fee and most likely a fee that Swoon Bookstore paid to ensure the package would be released from customs and returned to us in Australia.

USA Tariffs 

Swoon Bookstore charges the required tariff automatically on packages shipped to the USA (if they apply). Tariffs are calculated by product type and country of manufacture. Some states have also been changing their tax policies within the US, which started in 2021. If a company sells over a certain amount to certain states, they will be required to charge state taxes to customers. This is something that can change monthly or quarterly depending on sales to each state. Swoon Bookstore keeps up-to-date with this process and customers may see these changes at checkout. 

We are not responsible for these charges as they are determined by the appropriate national or state departments in the USA. 

International

In order to offer international shipping to a larger range of countries we are only offering DAP shipping for the remaining countries. This means that the buyer assumes responsibility for all customs/duties/import taxes associated with the shipment when it arrives in their country.
