J.R. Gray
Vengeful Monster [PREORDER 14 November 2026]
$35.00 AUD
Is stalking just a one sided meet cute?
Ash Conrad throws his meticulously curated life plans out the window to attend an Ivy League. In a country he’s never been to, against family tradition, all in the hope of gaining entrance to an ancient and exclusive secret society.
The Legacy of Power isn’t just an elite secret society, it’s where the heirs of the criminal underworld play. Admittance would guarantee Ash access to the type of people who might help him save his brother.
But first he has to get through Rurik Locke.
Son of the world’s most notorious assassins, Rurik’s family founded Legacy. He’s a ruthless, violent enigma of a golden retriever—who’s not above a little stalking—and is utterly obsessed.
Ash needs his help, but Rurik’s chaos threatens every aspect of the careful structure he’s built to survive.
They’re about to find out the skeletons in their closets are a lot more intertwined than they realize, and Ash will have to let Rurik in to save them both.

Preorder Frequently Asked Questions
We open up orders for a month, and once sales close we will begin production.
We do this to allow us to monitor demand, and prevent overstock and deliver the best possible product to our customers.
The preorder sales will open and run for one month. Once the month has lapsed and sales closed, we will then reach out to our manufacturers and partners, and arrange all the many, many components of the collaboration. Each manufacturer will have a different delivery date, and we will keep everyone updated on the process on our Shipping Page. We anticipate delivery 16 weeks post the closure of the preorders.
Yes, prior to preorder closure you can. Once the preorders have closed, those funds have been committed to manufacturing and we will not be able to offer a refund.
Once preorders close, we estimate shipping will commence 16 weeks post. We will always do our best to stay timely with shipping, however all projected shipping schedules are mostly dependent on things that are outside of our control.
We will continue to keep you up to date on the shipping and progress page which will be updated with any notifications that may extend out timeframes.
ABOUT US
Your favourite bookstores, favourite bookstore
Launching in June 2024, Swoon Bookstore started life as a retail indie bookstore with a focus on Queer titles and Australian authors. We created a steady community and began to dabble in bespoke pop up events and small-run special editions to compliment them. The pivotal moment in the next phase of the Swoon Story began with the inception of our first, fully featured Special Edition Book Box, Hamartia by Scarlett Drake, which was released April 2025.
